Join The William J. Watkins, Sr. Educational Institute in collaboration with the Reginald F. Lewis Maryland Museum of African American History and Culture and the Maryland State Department of Education in a one day professional development workshop on the 2015 Baltimore Uprising. Pariticipants will learn about the uprising, its causes and consequences through the photography of Devin Allen on display in the Lewis Now exhibit space. There will be a community conversation about the meaning of the uprising and its implications with community activists and civic leaders. The day will culminate with a presentation of new lessons to the Maryland State Department of Education’s African American History curriculum created by Dr. Brian C. Morrison of The William J. Watkins, Sr. Educational Institute.
