The William J. Watkins, Sr. Educational Institute is pleased to announce its winners for the 2021-22 Kamau Imani Parker Morrison Teaching Scholarship. This year’s pool had two applicants with very deserving qualifications so the committee decided to award the scholarship to both recipients, Alicia Hewlett and Paiton Moloy. Alicia Hewlett is completing her training at Coppin State University in Baltimore City. Her educational philosophy is: “All children can learn it and should be exposed to a world class education.”  Our other recipient, Paiton Moloy, who is completing her studies at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Paiton believes that being a special educator “is the most rewarding, heartfelt, and inspiring occupation. Our special needs students bring so much life, energy, honesty, outgoing curiosity, laughter, and so much more to our every day lives . . . ” We are pleased to assist these future special educators as they pursue their careers.
